Creative Media Diploma
The involvement of the students in GO MaD, THE Music and Dance Competition, isn't restricted to those performing in acts in the competition. The rest of the students in the school can gain exposure to the other skills required to run the competition such as:
- Film and Video production
- Sound recording
- Stage management
- Web design
- Marketing
- Promotions
- Merchandising
The idea is to involve as many of the students in the school as possible.
The structure of the competition and the related events works hand in hand with the new Diploma available in education for students aged 14 - 19. In the case of the GO MaD competition the production fits neatly with the requirements of the Creative Media Diploma.
What is a Diploma?
- The Diploma is a new qualification for 14 – 19 year olds
- They teach you about an area of work you're interested in
- Through a mix of class work and hands on experience
- You can also choose subject options that you want to do
- This could be to do with a hobby, a career or study you want to get into
- And still take compulsory subjects like English, maths and ICT
At the end, you'll have a better idea of what you want to do next. It could be more study at school, a job, university, college or an Apprenticeship.
One of the Diploma subjects is Creative Media. Through the production of GO MaD, THE Music and Dance Competition, and the staging of the heats and finals there will be many opportunities for students to gain the experience and work to go towards their Creative Media Diploma.
