Congratulations! The above acts are all through to the heats of GO MaD 2009.
What happens next?
Now the fun really begins!
You have the whole summer holidays to practice, practice, practice. When you return to school in September you will be assigned a mentor by the Expressive Arts teachers. Your mentor is there to help you prepare for the heats which will now start in November. The dates for the heats will be confirmed at the beginning of the Autumn term.
Music Acts:
For bands we strongly advise you think carefully about and start writing your own material during the holidays so you're ready to take full advantage of the advice your mentor and the Expressive Arts teachers will give you at the beginning of the term.
Dance Acts:
Dance acts should start planning the type of music you want to perform to and put together a list of example tracks which you can go through with your mentor and the Expressive Arts teachers as soon as term starts. From this your very own music can be commissioned and written, matching your tastes and requirements.
Both Music and Dance acts:
You will need to be able to perform at least two unique performances at each of the heats. Don't worry, you will be given all the help and support you need by your mentor and Expressive Arts teachers to make sure you're ready to compete.
What about our blogs?
If your act wants to make use of the FREE blogging space on the GO MaD website to promote yourselves as you progress through the competition and beyond you'll need to send an email to mad@madmusicdance.co.uk requesting a username and password. In your email you will need to give the following details:
- Name of your act
- Names of each member of your act and their tutor group at the time of entering
Make sure your email details the information above. Once we receive your email we will reply with details of how to login and access the blog.
